Observation: Roongo's Cafe

After spending 30 minutes at Roongo's, I observed many different situations and settings. I observed people from 12:45 - 1:15 on a Monday afternoon. I noticed that the busiest time while I was there was at 12:55 which makes sense because a lot of classes get out at 12:50. The most common scene was a group of students eating together. The most common group had 3-4 students in it and consisted of the same sex, the majority of the groups being female. There were also students who ate alone and interestingly, those who were by themselves, tended to sit by a window facing the window. I believe these students were sitting towards the window to avoid the social awkwardness that is associated with eating alone. While eating alone is really not awkward, the college body seems to see it as so, for I observed that a lot of people would glance at those who were by themselves.

Other than the people at Roongo's, I observed the type of food that is served there compared to the other places on campus to get food. Roongo's is very similar to the Husky in the types of food that is served and the faster paced atmosphere where as the Common's has a lot more options and is a slower paced atmosphere.
